SUNDAY CHAT: Wanderers & Warriors

Coming from a small town in the UK called Peterborough, two couple-envy, Charlie and Lauren, or known as Wanderers & Warriors, have done a lot of solo travel before they got together. It was only a matter of time before they got back on the road as a twosome. Conjuring up a wanderlust grid was certainly their greatest plan. Continuously bringing us to dreamy destinations, the couple's journey are the one to watch. From sipping chai tea with a family in the slums, watching the sun rises at the Taj Mahal to inhaling the tropical and sunny vibes in Sri Lanka, to name just a few.

Recently travelling to Sri Lanka, we managed to catch the couple on their trip to discuss everything from getting started to Wanderers & Warriors to how travel have changed their personality and many more that will make you book your next trip!

Tell us about your stay in Sri Lanka!

From the palm tree beaches to the friendly locals, we’ve fallen in love with Sri Lanka. We were originally only supposed to stay for 3 weeks but extended our visa to 3 months. We’ve travelled the majority of the country now and our favourite moment has got to be experiencing a jeep safari with the wild elephants!

Any beach recommendations in Sri Lanka you can spill the secret to us?

Hiriketiya Bay just up from Dikwella is our favourite spot!

First thing to do when waking up in Sri Lanka?

Hit up the local bakery tuk tuks for breakfast, you can’t miss their Beethoven soundtrack.

What advice would you give a friend that has never been to Sri Lanka?

Book a flight and go! It’s incredible.

Where we’re off to next …

in a couple of weeks we fly to Myanmar which we’re super excited for!

You two have been to some incredible destinations – what has been a stand out highlight so far and why?

Lauren’s a huge turtle lover so swimming with wild turtles was a huge tick on the bucket list.

Where are you guys in 5 years’ time?

Still messing around, having fun and travelling the world…

How has being an adventurer or traveler effected your life?

The one thing we always say is how it’s humbled us. Mixing with different walks of life truly open your eyes to how fortunate you are.

What one piece of advice would you give to other travelers?

Always keep on moving.

What should every traveler try at least once in their life?

To conquer a fear. Stretch out of your comfort zone and do something you never thought you could.

Who is on the guest list for your next trip?

Argh this is tough one…Ok, Kevin Hart, The Rock, our old flat mate Gino, our little nephew Thomas and maybe chuck in a puppy for good measure.

One item you couldn’t travel without is..

Lauren’s tangle teezer won the vote.

What is one thing from traveling that you wish to never happen again?

Food’s a killer.

You got two free plane tickets! What destination do you wish it would be?

New York! It’s at the top of our list but we’re still planning a US trip.

Lauren, if you could wear one Laluna outfit the entire time in Sri Lanka, it’d be:

Pink Meadow Basic Jumpsuit for sure, I’m in love with the design and it’s so comfortable.

Other than travelling – what are your other interests/hobbies?

Charlie is a big boxing fanatic and Lauren just loves getting creative. Apart from that mainly taking photos of course haha.

What does a typical day in the life of Charlie & Lauren look like?

Getting up, making our speciality of avocado and poached eggs on toast and then going out to explore. We hate being indoors so we always find something to do.
